 Today we learned about history from the setting in the Great Gatsby and some context for the book. We all wrote down things that we learned from the powerpoint, questions and things we want to know. Personally, I want to know how characters gained their wealth. A question i had was if there are any characters in the book that aren't racist?

 In class we started reading and analyzing a new poem called We Real Cool, and it references how teenagers feel about themselves doing not great stuff. The one thing that I believe was hard for me was figuring out what my generation believes is cool because all of.my friends aren't your stereotypical zoomer and we all have different opinions on what is cool or not.

 Today we read the long poem from Langston Hueges and we analyzed the poem to the point of understanding that America does not have opportunities for everyone in the country. Those affected are immigrants, people of color, women, other minorities etc.

 Today we took a quiz on argumentative texts and claims. Our class did better than another with a 90 percent average which is pretty good. I wasn't in class yesterday but I started the assignment and I'm almost finished with it. My only issue right now is remembering to do blog posts at the end of class, it's a very tedious thing to do but I know it doesn't take long.
