Reflection 8.25.23

-

 Today in class we took a short quiz on origin myths and what we know about them. The story we read was about the origin of the Robin. I thought it was pretty easy but probably ended up getting a 3/4. I was the first one to finish after all. After the quiz some people worked on their creation myth but I had finished mine the day before so I started drawing in my sketchbook.

 In class we started reading and analyzing a new poem called We Real Cool, and it references how teenagers feel about themselves doing not great stuff. The one thing that I believe was hard for me was figuring out what my generation believes is cool because all of.my friends aren't your stereotypical zoomer and we all have different opinions on what is cool or not.

 Today we read the long poem from Langston Hueges and we analyzed the poem to the point of understanding that America does not have opportunities for everyone in the country. Those affected are immigrants, people of color, women, other minorities etc.

 Today we took a quiz on argumentative texts and claims. Our class did better than another with a 90 percent average which is pretty good. I wasn't in class yesterday but I started the assignment and I'm almost finished with it. My only issue right now is remembering to do blog posts at the end of class, it's a very tedious thing to do but I know it doesn't take long.
